Trees Bacon Veneer Company is committed to the sustainability of the World’s Forests.

We recognize the importance of controlled harvesting and reforestation for the sustainability of today’s forests. Bacon Veneer Company has been logging the North American forests for over 100 years. Our staff of log buyers continues to work diligently to set in place log suppliers from both the private land owners as well as government properties. Bacon Veneer Company is working with the Sustainable Forestry Initiative to organize a ?third party certification? program with the private land owners. With our continued efforts and with our support of the programs of the Hardwood Forestry Fund and the Forest Stewardship Council, there will be high quality timber available for the next 100 years and well beyond.

“The Hardwood Forestry Fund promotes hardwood timber growth, management, education, and environmentally sound uses of our renewable resources… through … financial sponsorship of tree plantings throughout North America . . .”

We are supporters of the Tropical Timber Foundation’s work in South America and Africa. This foundation is active in several logging operations utilizing an innovative new technique of “Low Impact Logging”. Low Impact Logging is a method of log harvesting in which the timber company must follow harvesting restrictions set up by an independent organization that monitors the environmental impact, local human impact, as well as the local financial impact of the extraction of the timber. The Low Impact Logging or [L.I.L.] methods are quickly becoming the new standard for logging in the Tropical Ecosystems.
